Lucas Sports 1 - 4 South 8/1/11 Premier Division League Cup

South opened the new year brightly with a handsome win at Lucas. Two goals in the opening seven minutes from Aidan Preston on his full debut saw South in command. It was 3-0 just after the quarter hour with Gary Dunnings superb free kick curling into the bottom corner. On the half hour South had a penalty awarded to them but Aidan Prestons shot was well saved by the home keeper. The second half saw Lucas get back in the game on 55 minutes when a free kick fell loose in the box and was poked home. South had to withstand home pressure before they started to create more chances themselves and on 78 minutes Gary Pollard showed great composure to burst through and fire home low past the keeper.
